LEGACY & EVOLUTION

Dance Vision Salzburg was founded in 2024 by Prof. Peter Breuer, Cristina Uta, Shang-Jen Yuan, M.A., and Carola Wischenbart as a continuation and expansion of the legacy established by SIBA—the Salzburg International Ballet Academy. Originally founded in 2004 by Prof. Breuer, SIBA quickly became a beacon of excellence in the region, building a strong reputation for nurturing young dancers and providing them with a platform to excel on both national and international stages.

SIBA's programs were enriched by master classes from iconic figures in the dance world, such as Maya Plisetskaya, Cynthia Gregory, and Ildikó Pongor. These opportunities provided students with unparalleled insights into the artistry and discipline of dance, enhancing the depth and quality of the educational offerings.

Since 2023, Prof. Breuer—the esteemed Principal and Artistic Advisor of the Salzburg Ballet at the State Theatre of Salzburg, Resident Choreographer of the Europaballett St. Pölten, and President of Dance Vision Salzburg—along with Cristina Uta, Artistic Director; Shang-Jen Yuan, Managing Director; and Carola Wischenbart, Project Development Executive, have been instrumental in shaping the vision and curriculum of both SIBA and now the Salzburg Academy for Dance Arts (SADA), established by Dance Vision Salzburg.

The Salzburg Academy for Dance Arts (SADA) offers a comprehensive suite of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of dancers at every stage of their journey. The academy’s flagship program, DANCE VISION, is designed to prepare dancers for professional careers by offering advanced training and artistic development. This program is intended for young dancers who aspire to a professional career in dance. Complementing this, the COACHING FOR EXCELLENCE weekend program provides intensive training sessions that refine technique and broaden dance knowledge, making it ideal for dancers seeking to elevate their skills alongside regular commitments.

For those beginning their dance journey, the FIRST STEP program lays a solid foundation, ensuring that young dancers develop the essential skills they need to progress. The CHOREOCRAFT program offers personalized coaching, allowing dancers to explore and create bespoke choreography, fostering individual artistic expression. Additionally, the MOVEMENT REIMAGINED program caters specifically to adults, offering a fresh and dynamic approach to dance that enhances both physical and artistic expression.

Each summer, the academy hosts the PHOENIX Summer Dance Intensive, an immersive experience that ignites passion and accelerates growth, preparing dancers for the demands of the professional stage. This transformative journey culminates in the SPOTLIGHT Dance Gala, a celebration of the artistic achievements of our dedicated dancers, showcasing their talent to a global audience.

Through these diverse programs, the Salzburg Academy for Dance Arts (SADA) continues its unwavering commitment to excellence in dance education, nurturing talent and inspiring creativity.
